Biguenos on Christmas are no different from us, they
just want to celebrate theirs a little lively and more colorful. Christmas is
about celebration and cheers. It is about happiness, love, and forgiveness. And
the spirit of Christmas always lies and will be in our very hearts. But it’s up
to you on how you celebrate yours.
Biguenos
are the people of Vigan City. I may not be living there, but it is a very
popular place to be in. How I wish to live there even just for one day, and be
a true Bigueno on Christmas Day. I am very astonished at their cultures and
their different ways of life, and as a non-Bigueno, I want to experience them
myself.
December
25. Vigan city at night is filled of shining and shimmering lights that brightens
up the whole starry sky. The cold breeze and the aesthetic streets you can roam
around. A lot of beautiful places to picture in with your friends and family.
You can never get enough with the sight and smell of Christmas day at Vigan.
At the
middle of the city, there you can witness a big Christmas Tree. It is as said
illuminates hope and positive energy to the people. It is at its best at night
time, the aura of light that changes color, catches the eyes of people and
mesmerizes them. I’ve never seen a Christmas tree that big other than that, How
‘bout you?
Also,
there is this somewhat event called the “Simbang Gabi”, which we can
participate and worship God Himself before His date of birth. It is a nine-day
event, where you go at Vigan Cathedral to pray and serve for Him. All of us
have this on our own barangays and places but, theirs are to celebrate on the famous
and big Vigan Cathedral that are decorated with different varieties of
decorations and lights.
There are a lot more ways on how a
Bigueno celebrates Christmas. Be responsible and always remember to follow the protocols during the time of the Covid-19 pandemic. But before to end this blog post, let us all remember that it is not about
those fancy events, and flashy lights. As long as there is love and care
present in our daily lives, it is Christmas. Do you want to be a Bigueno?
Either way, I am very most sure that Christmas is fun for you, and your whole family.
