The End?

Is this really the end? It feels like yesterday was just the beginning. I can’t believe this chapter is coming to an end. It always feels like it’s a cliff hanger. Like if there’s not enough pages to complete this chapter of the book. In short, I keep thirsting for more written pages, that will hardly come true. Snapping back to reality, it is the end… right?

Time travelling back to where it all began. March 11, 2020, more than two years ago, the World Health Organization (WHO) officially declared the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak a global pandemic. Most of the public establishments and transportation are forced to be closed. This had led to the creation of the new mode of leaning, which most people call the “New Normal” that we are all experiencing today. It limited our interactions with one another physically, that some even slowly strayed away from each other. Though we can still talk and see them through social media, but it always feels like it’s not enough. Moreover, it made learning really stressing and depressing. With tons of work that needs to be submitted in a short amount of time, with most of us having no one to reach out for help with. It felt like we were alone fighting the whole world. Our mental health was being consumed and destroyed, having sleepless nights and no food. With the thought of only finishing and passing requirements, are we really learning? Or are we just passing so that we can reach someone or our own expectations?

A few months have passed, the COVID-19 virus situation had seemed to be a little bit better. Schools have started to adopt the face-to-face type of learning, and us students got to see each other again after for so long. But it feels like it’s not the same anymore, at least on my perspective. After having our heads and minds glued to a screen for a very long period of time, it felt like school lost its colors. But on the bright side, we’re already graduating Junior High School. Though I can’t say I had learned a lot, but the experience was extraordinary. It was fun meeting my friends, classmates and teachers at least for one more time, before this page will finally come to a close.

As we sadly turn over the last page of this chapter, a new set of clean pages is ready to be written. That can not only be done by oneself, but with company… a lot of them. With this, is this really the end? Or a fresh new start of an amazing journey? We’ll see.

A new sprout will soon yet to grow...
